Meeting with our teachers!

As part of the NASA SPOCS Project, we work with a myriad of bright, K12-aged students called our "Citizen Scientists". For Arkansas State, we chose the 4th through 6th graders at Nettleton STEAM and Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. To get the ball rolling this Fall and Spring for our little scientists, we had to first meet our teachers!

At each of the schools, we decided to bring a small sample of what each teacher should expect in their classroom once the experiment starts. We also had a quick presentation on our Waxworms and our experiment to make sure that everyone understood our experiment. We hope that when we start introducing our proposal to our citizen scientists, the teacher's will feel comfortable with all aspects of our project and will be able to assist any kid in the event we are not available.

Overall, the reaction was extremely positive! The teachers, students, and team-members alike share an excitement to work on a NASA-funded project that can launch to the International Space Station! Check back soon for more updates!
